I also visited the Cape Malays area. Yes, they have Malays in Cape Town, but they don't look and speak like us Malays. Their culture is similar to our Malay culture, they even have 5 stones and wedding berkat. One thing's for sure, u'll definitely be attracted to the colourful houses these Cape Malays stay in. There was one particular house which was painted in shocking pink up on a hill! Uncle Sedick drove up just to let me take a picture of that house. How I wish Kembangan area can be that colourful too..they have lime green, yellow, blue, purple, pink houses! How would u like your houses to be painted in your favourite colour?

The weather was very cold on the second day. It was raining and it wasn't a nice weather to go up Table Mountain, one of the must-see when u visit Cape Town. So we went to around to other interesting places, act like the locals, go where the locals go, shop where the locals shop.If youre a tourist, don't think ul get the chance to shop at their supermarket. U'll get to see some pics i took at their fruit and vege supermarket and u can compare with what our vege has to offer.
Cape Point is one of the must-sees in Cape Town. It where the 2 oceans meet, Altantic and Indian. You have to try to notice the division in one of the pics below.
Boulders is the ONLY place where u can see the South African penguins. They are so small and cute and so oblivious of tourist taking pictures of them. They are just so used to the attention ehehee..
We also visited one of the Cape Malay house whose occupants was once asked to leave during the Apartheid era. They eventually got back their house and made the first storey as a heritage museum. One of my favourite pictures in this entry would be the colourful changing rooms. Its just a changing room but its soooooo colourful! Maybe our government should think of doing it too.. hehe..

My Escape to South Africa ~ Cape Town (12 June - 22 June)

I never thought I would 'escape' from school again this June holidays but I needed a break. South Africa has been in my cards for a while after hearing many stories from my mum about her boss and her friends having their holidays there. And, if i were to go with the tour groups, its expensive. So, i contacted a home stay host, Mr Mobara, who hosted my mum's boss and her friends.
And so we set off. Just the 2 of us.

About the home stay family
We had our home stay with the Mobara. A family of 5 with very warm personalities.Sedick and Galima are blessed with 3 wonderful, good looking chidren.. all sooo tall! Much much taller than me heheeh..Their eldest son, Taariq (think that's how its spelt) looks like Craig David, the fair version. But i don't get to see much of him. Second son is Taahir, he is sooo helpful in the kitchen and is able to cook!! It brought me to shame.. Zaahida is their youngest. The only girl of 14 yrs of age. She'll grow up to be a very beautiful lady. You'll get to see her in some of my pictures. Most of our meals were well taken care of by the family. In fact, we were treated as one of their family members.Me and my mum never felt out of place. We felt at home.

Cape Town is a very beautiful place. Its safe, if you know how to take care of your belongings. The people are so friendly and warm. The sceneries make u appreciate nature and GOD's creation even more. If you're the sceneries lover, Cape Town should be in your list of travel. And your trip to South Africa is never complete if you have not visited the Safari, which was the highlight of my trip. It was the first time i heard a lion roar! It was the LIVE version, not recorded! Hehehee.. The only pity was we didn't stay over nite at the Safari. You'll know why when u see the pictures.
I wont type much for the next 9 days of the holiday entry, as pictures tells a thousand words.. Im sure ul agree with me when u see the pictures. It very beautiful.

U did'nt say anything about that delicious chocolate cake in front of you. Can't wait to see the rest of your photo's and read about your holiday.
Come on make some extra time to complete your fotopage about Cape Town
Missing You and LOTS of LUV

My best friend of 11 years tied the knot yesterday.. So happy for her. It was also the very first time i saw her hubby and i discovered that he's a very soft spoken guy. Good for you Mas, uve found the right one! They look so compatible together. Now that she's married, dun think im able to contact her as often as before..and meet up as and when we like it.. Mas has gone into another phase of her womanhood..from a daughter to a wife.. and im sure she'll be a perfect wifey for Zamri..
Mas and Zamri, once again..Congratulations.. and enjoy ur new 'life' as husband and wife!
So who wants to be my best friend now???

Fan the sinking flame of hilarity with the wing of friendship; and pass the rosy wine.

Raz and Dorcas Bday Surprise!

Dorcas didnt know the surprise bday was for her too..
View all 12 photos...
We planned a surprise bday party for Raz and Dorcas.. and Raz fearing that we might do somehting to his car like what we did last year, brought his bag with him the whole day! But this time we came up with other crazy crazy ideas.. like.. putting 3 boxes that they are suppose to choose and we threatened them to beware as there might be creepy crawlies..or even mouse or hamsters in the boxes..ehehe.. Raz was totally shaken! But he and Dorcas chose the right boxes and they got their presents! And the box with the mouse in it was left untouched..hehe..

Prince of Egypt - Ahmed Hamed Yousif

This entry is dedicated to Mr Ahmed Hamed Yousif, an Egyptian Tourist Guide. Mr Ahmed was our guide when we were in Egypt for our vacation. We found Ahmed to be very passionate about his job and his country. Previously we spent our vacations in groups but this time round, we wanted to be on our own. Naturally, we were very apprehensive about our safety. But when Ahmed welcomed us at the Cairo International Airport, we knew we would be in safe hands. He had a friendly smile and made us feel at ease.
Throughout our journey, we were provided with a new, clean and air con minivan. The hotels that he booked for us, were clean and comfortable. Ahmed also has a great sense of humour and full of surprises. On 2 occasions, he told us that he would not be accompanying us as there would be a local representative welcoming us at other cities of Egypt. But at the last minute, he surprised us by saying that he would be joining us as he was very concerned about our safety.
To sum up, Ahmed is a very competent and excellent guide who never fail to put a smile on our faces. He is also very helpful and tries to fulfil our requests at all times. The local shopkeepers has no chance to 'harass' us as Ahmed was always by our side.
Above all, Ahmed has a tremendous knowledge, a true historian of his country and truly the last 'Prince of Egypt'.
We are sure that other tourists who were guided by him enjoyed his company as much as we did. And we wish Ahmed would continue to be a valuable asset to his country. We pray that Ahmed will be blessed with good health, good family and good wealth.

<Ahmed can be contacted through email at ahmedhayo@yahoo.com>
